Clinical application of recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein in cats and dogs: a review of 13 cases.

Database (2001-2008) for cases in which the recombinant bone morphogenetic protein (rhBMP) is used to assist in the management of orthopedic diseases are reviewed and categorized as cases of non-union, delayed union, and the case is expected to Swine Recombinant Proteins heal with difficulty. If follow-up in the medical record is <6 mo for live animals, the owners were surveyed by telephone.

Thirteen cases (11 dogs, 2 cats) were identified; OP-1 (rhBMP-7) was used in 3 cases and infusions (rhBMP-2) in 10. Mean time from injury to the use of rhBMP for cases of non and delayed union is 156 d; Average time of rhBMP used for radiographic healing was 101 d.

No systemic side effects were reported. All patients achieved clinical and radiographic bone union after administration of rhBMP. Human recombinant BMP is used in 13 patients of animals to successfully achieve bony union without seriously damaging effects in a variety of clinical applications.

cluster core-shell protein comprising the recombinant cat hemoglobin and serum albumin as a carrier O2-made for cats.

This report describes the synthesis and structure of core-shell protein cluster composed of hemoglobin (Hb) in the center and recombinant cat serum albumin (rFSA) on the exterior, which is a cluster albumin hemoglobin (Hb-rFSA3). In particular, we highlight their capabilities as artificial O2 carriers that can be used as a red blood cell (RBC) substitute for cats, pet most populous in the world.

First, rFSA expressed by genetic engineering using yeast Pichia. Proteins show features identical to the original FSA derived from the plasma of cats. a single crystal of rFSA prepared under the microenvironment in the international space station (ISS), where the structure was first revealed at 3.4 Å resolution.

Furthermore, cows Hb wrapped with rFSA using a Cat Recombinant Proteins crosslinker covalently-Succinimidyl α-ε-maleimide, resulting Hb-rFSA3 cluster. rFSA entities embrace three core Hb satisfying, giving the cluster protein net negative surface charge (pH = 4.7) and prevent the immunological response to an anti-Hb antibody. O2 higher affinity (P50 = 9 Torr) compared to the native Hb. Cluster Hb-rFSA3 anticipated to be used as an alternative material for red blood cell transfusions, and as O2 therapy reagents that can be used in various scenarios veterinary medicine.

Bacillus thuringiensis is a Gram-positive soil bacterium known as biopesticide bacteria that produce insecticidal proteins called protein crystals (Cry). In the process of insecticides, chitinase advisable to perforate the membrane barrier peritrophic to facilitate the invasion of Cry proteins to the membrane epithelium.  A chitinase gene from B. thuringiensis successfully expressed in soluble form in Escherichia coli and purified and characterized the gene product. Purified recombinant enzyme, BthChi74, hydrolyzed artificial substrates, 4-nitrophenyl N, N'-diacetyl-β-D-chitobioside [4NP- (GlcNAc) 2], and the natural substrate, colloidal chitin and crystal α-chitin, but  it does not hydrolyze cellulose. BthChi74 shows the catalytic activity under weakly acidic to neutral pH Yeast Recombinant Proteins  range at 50 ° C, and it was stable at broad pH range for 24 hours. Differential scanning Uranium (DSF) shows the protein melting temperature (T m) of 63.6 ° C.  The kin...

Detection of humoral response using a recombinant heat shock protein 70, DnaK, of Mycoplasma haemofelis in experimentally and naturally hemoplasma-infected cats.

Hemoplasmas is a trivial name given to a group of erythrocyte-parasitizing bacteria of the genus Mycoplasma. From hemoplasmas cat, Mycoplasma haemofelis is the Fungal Recombinant Proteins  most pathogenic, while "Candidatus Mycoplasma haemominutum" and "Candidatus Mycoplasma turicensis" less pathogenic. shotgun library of genomic DNA is fragmented M. haemofelis built, and the colonies randomly selected for sequencing DNA. In silico-translated amino acid sequence of the open reading frame than the alleged mass spectrometry data of M.  haemofelis spots identified as immunogenic proteins by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and Western blotting. Three of the spots matched with predictable sequence of heat shock protein 70 (DnaK) homolog, elongation factor Ts, and a fragment of phosphoglycerate kinase that is found during screening library.  A full-length copy of the M. haemofelis DnaK gene was cloned into Escherichia coli and recombinant. M. haemofelis purified recom...

Kinetic and oligomeric study of Leishmania braziliensis nicotinate/nicotinamide mononucleotide adenylyltransferase.

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) is an essential coenzyme involved in redox reactions and oxidative stress defense system. Furthermore, the NAD is used as the substrate by a protein that regulates cell f unctions important for DNA repair, Other Recombinant Proteins  genetic and signal transduction, among many others. NAD biosynthesis can be solved through de novo and salvage pathways, which converge at a common step is catalyzed by a nicotinate / nicotinamide mononucleotide adenylyltransferase (NMNAT EC: 2.7.7.1/18).  Here, we report kinetic characterization of NMNAT of Leishmania braziliensis (LbNMNAT), one of the etiologic agent of leishmaniasis, a parasitic disease that is relevant. Expression and purification of recombinant proteins homogeneous 6xHis-LbNMNAT done and kinetic studies, which included analysis of Km, Vmax, kcat and equilibrium constants (KD) for both forward and reverse reactions, is completed. Oligomeric state of the recombinant protein 6xHis-LbNMNAT ...
